Bluestorm scoops two nominations for top industry award
The Bluestorm team is celebrating after being twice shortlisted for a prestigious industry award.
Bluestorm has been nominated in two categories of the CIPR PRide Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Awards: ‘Not-for-Profit’ for its work with The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and ‘Integrated Communications’ for its work with international palm oil initiative, GreenPalm.
Earning a nomination in the ‘Not-for-Profit’ award category, Bluestorm worked with The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust to devise the Give Soap a Chance campaign, a simple but very effective initiative aimed at encouraging people to wash their hands properly and more often.
The campaign was launched in March 2009 and was supported with the production of business and education packs, whilst hand-washing demonstrations and presentations attracted crowds in shopping centres, business conferences and schools throughout the region. The posters have even been used in TV dramas to help depict a medical environment.
Bluestorm reached the shortlist in the ‘Integrated Communications’ category in recognition of its international campaign to promote GreenPalm, a Hull-based certificate trading programme that operates globally to support sustainable practices in the palm oil industry.
The agency’s powerful mix of public relations, web design, social media, advertising and marketing tools have raised the profile of GreenPalm in the national UK media over the past year and has now begun to be rolled out to other parts of Europe, Australasia and the USA.
Julie Leydon, Director of PR at Bluestorm said:
“It’s great to have been shortlisted for two awards. The team worked incredibly hard on both projects but the results for our clients were well worth it. Having our work recognised at an industry level really is the icing on the cake. This award recognises not only the PR team, but the company as a whole. We all worked together to come up with new ideas and put them in motion.”
Jay O’Connor, CIPR President said:
“The CIPR PRide Awards are a celebration of PR achievement and a showcase of campaigns implemented by the best of the best from across the UK. I offer my congratulations to all those who have reached this stage of the competition. Now more than ever, demonstrating the value of what we do, and the positive impact we have, is tremendously important. Thank you to all involved – the entrants, judges and teams.”
