Christmas Jumper Day 2013
Here at Bluestorm, we don’t really need an excuse to stuff our faces full of yummy cakes and dress in funky, festive knitwear.
So, it was no surprise that most of the staff decided to partake in Christmas Jumper Day 2013 and our annual Christmas Bake Sale, to raise money for two great causes.
From Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer cardigans, to a giant Christmas pudding sweater – oh, and even a woolly Santa beard – we dressed up in our festive finery, donated £1 each and raised a total of £40 for Save the Children, an international children’s charity based in the UK, which supports both emergency and long-term relief and development projects.
To get in the seasonal spirit, our account handler, Laura, decided to host a little in-house Christmas knitwear contest, with the prize being a tasty, build-your-own, flat-packed gingerbread house for the most festive fashionista.
The winners were Tracey and Leanne, from the accounts team, who, not only donned jazzy jumpers, but also wore spangly festive specs, fairisle-print leggings and bauble earrings – just in case we didn’t get the hint!
In addition to this, we also arranged a Bluestorm Bake Sale, with homemade mince pies and lemon curd cake, along with Christmassy biscuits, chocolates and cupcakes. The £55 raised will be going to the National Blind Children’s Society (NBCS), which helps children and young people who are blind, or partially sighted, to achieve their educational and recreational goals.
