A right royal state of excitement
We’re not ones to blow our own trumpets at Bluestorm but we were in a right royal state of excitement working on a media event for our client Richard Smith (MI) Ltd yesterday morning.
It’s not often you call out ‘we’re waiting for the Cavalry to arrive’ during the working day but our PR Consultant Cath Farrell got to do just that, when two members of the Lifeguards and two members of the Blues and Royals put a new set of Smith-Watkins state fanfare trumpets through their paces.
The quartet led by Trumpet Major Matt Screen was in demand from the assembled media at Richard Smith’s North Yorkshire premises, playing a fanfare for Look North’s 50th birthday, chatting to BBC Radio York and posing for a posse of newspaper and news agency photographers.

The media call we organised around the inspection and testing of the instruments commissioned by the Ministry of Defence for royal and state occasions clearly hit a right note. Many of the journalists who attended were kept busy fine-tuning numerous social media posts live from the scene.
The national and regional print, broadcast and online coverage is still coming through, but includes features and picture stories in the Daily Telegraph, The Times, the Yorkshire Post and the Daily Mail online, the world’s biggest newspaper website. Music to our ears!
