Are you “Made in Hull” material?
With Hull experiencing its greatest wave of positivity in decades, now is the time to really shout about all of the innovative projects taking place within the city. So, here at Bluestorm, we’re delighted to announce that we’ll be supporting Streets Chartered Accountants with the launch of their brand new event ‘Made in Hull’, which looks to celebrate ingenious goods and services produced in our wonderful city.
ver the years, Hull has brought the world the likes of the Venn diagram and the LCD technology behind the digital watch, Slipstream, which was recently unveiled at Heathrow. Oh and how could we possibly forget our best-loved export – chip spice! A true taste sensation, those post-night out takeaways just wouldn’t be the same without it.
Launching to coincide with Humber Business Week 2014, ‘Made in Hull’ is inviting local business to nominate companies, products or services (their own or others) which originated in the city and which demonstrate pioneering thinking.
The categories for entrants include:
- Made in Hull sold locally
- Made in Hull sold nationwide
- Made in Hull sold overseas
- Made in Hull for many generations
- To Be Made in Hull (for a new product idea)
To enter, in no more than 150 words, please explain why you think your nominee would be a deserved winner and pop over to the dedicated Made in Hull web page at www.madeinhull.org.uk to submit your entry.
The closing date for entries is Friday 23rd May, with nominees and winners being announced at the inaugural Made in Hull celebration event on Thursday 5th June 2014 at the KC Lightstream Stadium, hosted by Barry Dodd CBE, Chair of Council and Pro Chancellor at the University of Hull.
So, Hull-based businesses, get your thinking caps on and get nominating!
