Bluestorm and Hull College win Gold Heist Award for ‘Best Website’
A website we developed with our client Hull College, has won a prestigious, national Heist Award!
Gaining Gold in the category ‘Best Website’, the new Hull College site fought off stiff competition from colleges and universities across the country. The winner was announced last night at a high profile awards evening in Manchester.
The judges commented…
"Hull College Group have utilised great infographics to share core information and revitalise their website. The main focus on improving the quality of course information demonstrates the team’s effective research, and the use of parallax scrolling and large bold images which reveal as you scroll the site create both interest and depth.”
John Basker, Director of Bluestorm said…
“It’s a fantastic achievement to win a Heist award. It has showcased our creativity, technical innovation and our ability to create a great user experience.
“Most importantly of all, we had to demonstrate how the website had achieved the objectives set for it – namely to support student recruitment. At the time of entering the award, numbers of student applications had risen by 60% on the same period last year.”
As you can imagine, Hull College are pretty pleased too. Here’s what Matthew Lilley, of Hull College, had to say…
“Not only was it great to scoop the top prize at such a prestigious awards ceremony, but we received some excellent feedback from others in attendance. It is brilliant to have such recognition in our industry.
“The new site is playing a major role in helping potential students to search and apply for courses that match their future career aspirations. It has also achieved the secondary targets we have set for it – namely to develop a secure, online course database management system which provides accurate and complete information for the website.
“And we have radically improved our online careers advice and guidance through our creative presentation of careers information. Our ‘Career Coach’ web tool for each course is designed to show students the range of career types, job opportunities and earning potential.”
Now celebrating its 27th year, the Heist Awards celebrate the excellence and innovation of everyone involved in education marketing, from regional colleges to global university brands.
