Bluestorm shortlisted for three PR industry awards
We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for three awards for our PR and marketing work on Green Port Hull’s Women into Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) initiative. This rounds off a successful few months for Bluestorm, after being shortlisted for two awards for Hull College’s website too.
We are in the running for the Best Public Sector Campaign award in CIPR PRide Awards (Yorkshire and Lincolnshire); the Best Consultancy Public Sector, Value For Money Award in the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) National Awards; and the Best Not-For-Profit Campaign in the Northern Marketing Awards.
WiME was created to address the shortage of women engineers in the Humber region, which reflects a national issue – just 9% of the UK engineering workforce and 6% of registered engineers and technicians are female. WiME aims to inspire women to choose a career in manufacturing and engineering.
In just 12 months, eight women were recruited through the scheme and have taken up roles at some of the region’s largest companies including Swift Group, Siemens Gamesa and Airco Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Limited.
Bluestorm supported Green Port Hull by producing WiME marketing materials, managing advertising and helping to organise two careers events. We also raised awareness of WiME with strong media relations and social media campaigns.
Julie Leydon, PR Director at Bluestorm, said:
“It’s been fantastic to see WiME flourish over the past year, and for Bluestorm to have played a part in supporting such an important initiative. To be nominated for three awards is a great achievement as it has given us an opportunity to showcase our talents on a national level.”
