You can tell January is coming to an end here at Bluestorm. The number of lush, green salads and homemade soups in the fridge is slowly decreasing, and the hardcore gym sessions are being ditched in favour of lounging on the sofa in a onesie watching Big Brother (no names mentioned).
The New Year resolution efforts may already be fading, but what a start it has been to 2014 for us, following a busy 12 months last year.
From working with the first man to be fitted with a bionic arm on the NHS, to tweeting live with armed police in South Yorkshire, 2013 was a varied and interesting year for us.
We welcomed on board talented new team members and clients, including industrial door manufacturer Envirodoor, Askham Bryan College, Harrogate Flower Show, and boutique and online jeweller Joshua James, as well as many others.
Bluestorm also celebrated being named in the top 50 integrated agencies in the North of England. The Prolific North Top 50 Integrated Agencies 2013 list is a definitive compilation of the North’s largest integrated agencies, spanning creative, advertising, marketing and sales promotion – and we ranked 26th! Not bad, considering 150 agencies were assessed. With the exciting buzz surrounding Hull’s City of Culture 2017 that same week, the ranking came at a brilliant time.
And, judging by the first month of 2014, it looks as though we are going to have another busy year ahead.
Last week, we welcomed Kristen Wegener, a German exchange student, to the Bluestorm offices. Kristen’s dad is the chief fire officer in a town called Lemgo, in North East Germany, which is twinned with Beverley.
As part of the geographical partnership, she came over to East Yorkshire to undertake a work experience placement at Humberside Fire & Rescue, to brush-up on her English language skills. As one of our clients, the fire service asked if she could come in and learn more about the world of marketing and PR – and we were more than happy to oblige!
We are looking forward to working with new and existing clients and there are some exciting projects in the pipeline that we can’t wait to get involved with and shout about, so watch this space …
