Pipped to the post by Saatchi
We were pretty pleased to be the runner up to M & C Saatchi PR in last week’s national PRCA Awards.
Our work for Green Port Hull’s Women into Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) campaign had been shortlisted for the PRCA’s Best Public Sector, Value for Money Award.
We were pipped to the post by Saatchi’s campaign Civil Aviation Authority: #400ftBritain. But, in an evening dominated by large London agencies and blue-chip organisations, it was great to be flying the flag for smaller agencies and our region.
To see Bluestorm’s name up in lights next to Saatchi’s, one of the best-known PR agencies in the world, was quite a moment.
That said, what’s important is that our work with Green Port Hull on WiME has made a tangible contribution to solving an important problem – the under representation of women in manufacturing and engineering.
So, although we were beaten on the day, we can be pleased to have encouraged girls and women to consider a career in manufacturing and engineering. That’s worth more than any award.
