Supporting the region’s regeneration
This week, our client Tradepark Ltd announced the £6m regeneration of one of Hull’s most iconic buildings, Kingston House.
And the plans are impressive. The 90,000 sq ft city centre location will be the new home of K2 – a multi-space concept that is the first of its kind in Hull. It will incorporate flexible office and co-working space, 14 luxury serviced apartments and a 100-bed hotel. K2 will also house retail and leisure space, with plans to include a restaurant, gym, bar and a café with rooftop terrace.
The transformation of Kingston House came at the same time Hull City Council revealed artist’s impressions and plans for Albion Square – a new development across the road from K2. The square will include new retail outlets, housing, parking and leisure facilities, all built around an enclosed courtyard in Albion Street.
We’re proud to be supporting Tradepark Ltd with the PR and marketing of K2, and particularly excited that we get to be involved with another project and client linked to the regeneration and economic development of our region.
For the past three years, we’ve worked closely with Hull City Council’s economic development team on Green Port Hull. Following Siemens’ £310m investment in a turbine blade facility at Alexandra Dock, we supported the company with its recruitment campaign, which has brought 1,000 jobs to the region. Part of our work has also been to help the Green Port Growth Programme promote its services to businesses that can use support to capitalise on renewable energy supply chain opportunities.
Another Bluestorm client, Hull UK City of Culture 2017, is also having an incredibly positive impact on our local economy. Just a couple of weeks ago, it was reported that the one millionth visitor was welcomed to Hull’s museums and galleries. Earlier this summer, Hull Trains also declared record numbers for the first five months of 2017 – suggesting Hull UK City of Culture 2017 is having a significant impact on figures.
We’re delighted to play a role in telling the world about these fantastic projects and can’t wait to see the influence they will have on our economy in the future.
