Two Heist award nominations for Bluestorm

The Bluestorm team is celebrating following the announcement of this year’s highly anticipated Heist award shortlist. Heist is an annual award scheme which aims to celebrate the most effective and innovative campaigns in education marketing.

We scooped two nominations for 2013, including ‘Best Student Recruitment Campaign’ for our work on the Hull College Group’s 2011/2012 ‘Your 1st Choice’ campaign, along with ‘Best Further Education Prospectus’ for our work with Newcastle Under-Lyme College (NULC).

The Hull College Group’s main aim was to establish itself as the first choice for learning, which we did through the use of integrated social media, events, radio advertising, direct mail and SMS text messaging to reach each of our client’s target audiences. We also set up an innovative microsite, to act as a hub for the campaign.

The results were extremely positive, with our campaign being seen by over 500,000 people on Facebook, enrolment for part-time adult courses increasing by 56% on last year, and all of our targets either met or exceeded.

We began work with NULC in September 2012, when they were looking to produce a 2013-14 full-time prospectus which would help to establish a new, credible brand to appeal to a more sophisticated, consumer-driven target audience. The college also wanted an agency with experience of on and offline marketing integration to lead on a strategy which would give the prospectus a longer shelf life and a method for evaluation.

We’re very proud of our work on both campaigns, and would like to wish our clients every success at the awards ceremony.

The winners will be announced at Manchester’s Renaissance Hotel on Thursday 11 July.
