After being closed for more than three months, the catering and hospitality industries finally started to awaken on July 4th, when the Government gave the green light for them to reopen.
For our client AAK Foodservice, this was a great milestone – and one they had been preparing for during lockdown, with the launch of new products to help caterers meet Government guidance.
To protect staff and customers in restaurants, pubs, bars and takeaway venues, the Government has issued steps around the service of food and drink – which specifically include the provision of disposable condiments.
AAK Foodservice pre-empted this and wanted to prepare a solution for customers. They brought forward the launch of new Lion sauces dip pots – some of their best-selling flavours in handy individual 25g portions. This new packaging format removes the need for shared condiments, either at takeaway counters or pub and restaurant tables, providing a safer environment for all.
As their manufacturing team stepped up production to deliver these sauces in readiness for the sector reopening, we worked closely with their marketing team on creating sales support materials for the launch.
Using a small selection of trial product packaging and label artwork, we were able to create a full range of pack shot photography, and used this to develop a sell sheet, adverts, content for the Lion sauces website, and a sample box.
In a time of uncertainty, we had to respond quickly so we could be prepared for reopening. We managed to deliver the project in just three weeks – from brief to approval.
Rachel Neale, Marketing Director Foodservice at AAK International, said:
“With Bluestorm’s support, we’ve been able to react quickly to provide a solution to the current challenges faced by the foodservice industry. Lion’s new dip pots will enable pubs and restaurants to deliver high-quality sauces, in a format that is safe and aligned with COVID-19 guidelines.”
