Brief

J. Marr asked us to refresh and modernise their online presence while improving internal communication through the development of a secure staff intranet. The brief also included ongoing website support, social media content creation, branding for a new partnership, internal signage, and a high-impact exhibition stand for a major industry expo.

Outcome

We delivered a dynamic dual-purpose website with an integrated staff intranet, ensuring the needs of customers and colleagues alike could be met within one, easy-to-use system. Site traffic and engagement have grown significantly year-on-year in the new platform, and team members now have an online hub to engage with business news and updates. We also refreshed their brand identity, improved visibility on LinkedIn, and provided a custom-designed stand for their visit to The Global Seafood Marketplace Expo 2025.

Web Design & Development

The new website was built using Craft CMS and includes a secure staff-only intranet with logins. Features include a noticeboard for updates, staff perks, an events calendar, and out-of-office tracking so the whole team can quickly see who is available on specific dates. News articles can also be displayed on the public or private sections of the site, or both, increasing versality and efficiency within the internal communications team.

Improvements to J. Marr’s internal communications have come through our work on the creation of new company values and intranet articles for staff.

Design

We worked with J. Marr to add fresh impetus to their main brand as well as creating additional branding and brochures for an exciting new partnership. This involved identifying core company values and bringing them to life with vibrant internal signage for their office in Hull, as well as creating a suite of assets to support their activity on LinkedIn. For the new partnership, our experts created a new brand identity to reflect their ambitions with a supporting website and brochure. In 2025, we designed and produced an exhibition stand, which also involved us attending The Global Seafood Marketplace Expo to support with the set-up.

Our support didn’t end at launch; we’ve continued to maintain J. Marr’s website health with regular SEO audits to aid search engine performance and optimisation. By focusing on key meta data and content, we’ve increased Organic Search by almost 40% year on year. Customised reports in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) have also been set-up to aid the client’s monitoring of the website’s performance.

Page views

Following the work by our specialist web development, SEO and content teams, page views on the new site are up by an impressive 44% overall, with increases to product pages for fish and meat – the two key services – particularly pleasing.
