A growing multi-academy trust supporting schools and alternative provisions across Yorkshire, including Hull, York and Scarborough.

Brief

Heartwood Learning Trust approached us to help shape and implement their new group identity. They needed support with brand articulation, a fresh visual identity for the Trust and several academies, prospectus design, photography, signage, and a full suite of websites across their schools and alternative provisions.

Outcome

We delivered a consistent, professionally managed creative rollout across 12 schools, covering everything from branding and messaging to signage and digital presence. Our work brought clarity to the Trust’s values, coherence across materials, and greater ease of use for staff and parents engaging with their websites and content.

Web Design & Development

We redesigned and rebuilt the main Trust website, as well as school and alternative provision sites, using a shared structure and design system tailored to each. Based on stakeholder feedback and GA4/Search Console insights, we created a content architecture that works for staff, students and families. Each site reflects its individual school identity, while maintaining consistency and ease of content management via Craft CMS.

Marketing & Comms

Working with the senior leadership team, we led a brand articulation process that defined and expressed the Trust’s vision and values. Through a series of workshops and interviews, we developed a messaging strategy that now underpins all communications, strengthening clarity, consistency and connection across audiences. This work was used to shape key content across brochures and websites.

Design & Print

We planned and delivered a new design style for printed prospectuses, transition guides and branded collateral across the Trust. A carefully phased schedule supported each school’s open events, combining high-impact visuals with copy, photography, and print production. Every piece was tailored to the school while aligned to the wider brand.

Photography

We provided on-site photography for multiple academies, capturing authentic, high-quality imagery for use across print and digital materials. These images helped tell each school’s story and bring prospectuses, websites and signage to life.

Signage & Graphics

We designed, produced and installed new signage across 12 school sites in Hull, York and Scarborough. This included external signs, wayfinding and wall graphics, creating a strong visual presence that aligned with the new brand while meeting accessibility and legibility standards.
